They recycle the relish. After a table is done eating, they top off the relish and serve it to another table and on and on it goes. Stuffing for the fish is just bread that is served to tables and not eaten.

Just great place & people
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/08
I had business guests in town from overseas, arriving on a hectic weekend, and the Curtis House went well out of their way to make my visitors welcome and feel comfortable and at home. Their room was charming, the dinner outstanding, the wait service was kind and cheerful despite the inordinate amount of time we spent lingering over dinner on a Sunday night!

Restaurant you can return to
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/07
We have visited the restaurant many times over the years - food is always excellent - the service a bit slow, but we always go for saturday lunch and it is always busy. Parking is somewhat of a problem... The atmosphere is pleasant old New England, but some of the furniture really needs to be repaired/replaced (the chairs in particular are losing their comfort). Nevertheless, we will return...

We had been told that this place was nothing extravagant, but had decent food for a good price so we tried it. I ordered the fish. MIstake #1. It was a mild fish, but had a very strong fishy smell. It was obvious. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he immediately picked up the plate without saying a word and took it away. Seemed good at first, no ...
My son and I went for lunch there and the food from start to finish was excellent! Our waitress was a doll as well, the french onion soup was better than my own! I would recommend the place to all my friends and family, the staff is very nice and effcient..
The rooms were clean, the beds comfy and the showers worked. The staff were absolutely ghastly though. Rude on the phone, rude in person and not willing to accomodate even the slightest request. Continental breakfast consisted of little boxes of cereal, cans of cranberry juice and one pot of coffee. Won't be returning and won't be reccomending to others.

A Mother's Day Tradition
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/06
My husband and I go to the Curtis House quite often and would not think of anyother place to go on Mother's Day not only to I look forward to it but my grandchildren also do. TJ and her staff go out of there way to make you feel welcome and I have never had a bad meal there.
My family went to the Curtis House Inn restaurant for dinner last night and were sooo pleased. The five of us ate 4 course meals and had 5 drinks and walked out for a bill under $120! In CT that is unheard of! The meals are delicious and the portions are huge, the staff was wonderful and very friendly- and the atmosphere is wonderful old world ...

Fresh new look
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/19/06
I have stayed at and eaten at the Curtis House several times over the years. Always a great value and a beautiful historic inn.A recent stay even increased my love of the romantic inn. From what I've learned the Inn has been owned by the same family for over fifty years and recently acquired a new chef bringing some changes to the menu, and some other updates to the restaurant that just added to our stay.
