Overall I would have said that this hotel was good, however this was VERY BADLY let down by the beir keller. This was basically a knocking shop. As a group of friends travelling together we agreed to meet in the basement bar, only to have several of the men in the party approcahed by "ladies" plying their trade! Everyone felt very uncomfortable and we left once we were all there.
The hotel was centrally located. We stayed there a week in July 2003 and I have never stayed at a nicer hotel. The people were wonderful. Most spoke English so communication was not a problem. Easy money exchange. the breakfast buffet was wonderful, it had a full compliment of Chinese and western food.

Service was great. Room was comfortable accept for the A/C which did not work while I was there. location was good close to all the major shopping centers.
The Jinling hotel is an expensive hotel in chinese terms. But the service and decorations justifies it. It is the best hotel in Nanjing. There are several restaurant at very standard in the hotel, covering cuisines from all over the world. The location is in the city centre, just next to the best (most expensive!) shopping malls in Nanjing.
