Being an old hotel is not the problem. The issue is that it is a filthy and very dirty place. I can start with the toilet seat that did not flush, to dirty towels, to the matress full with germs....It was a nightmare! I had to get out of this hotel and check into another one.
Hotel is comfortable, and staff is extremely friendly. Obviously the hotel is thirty years old, but for that, it is very good. There are other hotels nearby that are newer, but you will pay more and won't have the ease of access to the dive center and beach club. Deals are available for the diving, and has a great dive boat for snorkeling/diving/relaxing. Food is great in and out of the hotel, whether you are on the boat or at the club.
the hotel is kinda good i stayed there for 5 days and it was fine i mean according to the price not comparing to other hotels and for me its all about the pools when i go to hotels and that was a good pool and the design of the hotel its like old or its really old i dunno....... i just hated the TV not many channels but we r nt going to watch TV after all right????

Why go to Egypt if you can go to Aqaba?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/22/07
Although it looks a bit run down and has lost is past grandeur, there is basically nothing wrong with this comfortable, UK/owned hotel. The English speaking staff is extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are very spacious and all have a balcony. There is a video room, the pool is good and the hotel is conveniently located in the centre. The kitchen ...
Place needs renovation. Got charged for a superior room but did not get one, the heating unit was so noisy we couldnt sleep and when asked to be changed they offered a room with cockroaches and even worse, bedsheets where threadbare. Water was lukewarm at its best because is solar heated and weather wasnt good. Their staff unhelpful (except the driver who was very good) manager extremely unfriendly. Very noisy location too. Not good!

Great price for service

Alcasar is an older stablishment but great for the money. The beach club is a prime attraction, you wont find anything as nice and close to the snorkeling waters as theirs. Service is first rate, very friendly and a dive service and shop right there! What more could you want?!

Al-cazar was quite good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/04
We were there in the summer of 2004. It's not the newest hotel, but it's cheap and good. The rooms are great, it's very clean (as whole Jordan - it's exciting), there's a great swimming pool, the workers in the hotel are nice and helpful. The only disadvantage was for me that the breakfast doesn't contain meat, but I ...
