After a not-too-charming experience with the Basarabia Hotel in Balti, I was kind of worried about the National Hotel...would it be the same? Thankfully, upon entering the National, I realized that I had nothing to worry about. The hotel is kept very clean and offers a number of amenities. Was great! Frindly staff! Not a lot of smiles, but "a lot of smiles" is not characteristic for ex USRR countries let's admit it!
BEST PRICES!!!
Choose renovated or eurostandard rooms! :)

I stayed here in October 2004. This hotel apparently has a 3-star rating...I wouldn't give it a single star.

Our room had two single beds, with wafer thin blankets and no heating. It had a balcony - but the walls and floor were crumblling concrete and we did not attempt to stand outside for fear of it falling down!
