This is an overall decent place for the area. My girlfriend and I were very disappointed with our room. It was one of their Premium rooms. They just handed me the keys without even offering to show me to the room or help with luggage. We were never introduced to the Inn keepers, they didn't even introduce there selves at breakfast just plain ...

We stayed at the Lafayette in to attend a function at the college. I couldn't imagine anyone choosing a chain hotel over this beautiful old residence. Nice inn, great breakfast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/22/05
My family (including 2 elementary school-age children) and I recently stayed at the Lafayette Inn, and were very pleased with the friendly staff, good-sized room, and convenient location. The breakfast was wonderful, including omelettes and waffles, (made just for you), and all kinds of cereals, fruit, and baked goods. That in itself was worth the extra cost of staying there vs. a chain hotel!

Not quite up to par.

My room was on the third floor and there was no elevator. I had suitcases to haul up the stairs. The room was small; a small shower stall, and the showerhead fell off. The bed was not comfortable; there was a dampness and the room felt humid. The breakfasts were wonderful. Perhaps the high price comes from that. This was the only place close to Lafayette University that had rooms. Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn were booked out.
