I was stuck in King Salmon for a few days and stayed at the Kingko. Unfortunately, all the hotels there (very few to choose from - it is the bush after all) are absurdly expensive and definitely not worth the money. I understand where the location is, however when one is stuck paying around $250 a night, it would be nice to have, for example, a ...
The King Ko Inn is conveniently located across the street from the airport. It provides the best rooms, restaurant, bar and employees in Bristol Bay. I know. My business takes me to Bristol Bay and the King Ko 3-4 times each year and I stay there each time. It is amusing to me that, until 2006, King Salmon had a "Holiday Inn" type of ...

I'm Going Back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/08
I'm a regular at the King Ko. I've stayed there for many years and it continues to improve. It is a place to fish hard and party hard. Don't compare this place to your local Holiday Inn in Springfield, Illinois. The King Ko is Alaskan in every way. Come with an open mind and you'll enjoy your stay and want to return.

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/08
I stayed at the King Ko in April and again in July of 2007. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were both clean, decently accomidating and functional. The location is great and they have rental cars available. This is no big city hotel, but is great for what it is. The staff was by far the best part, they made the experience unique and interesting. Would return anytime!

Tanya was great but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/07
We ate almost every meal at the Kingko restuarant where our waitress, a fisherwoman named Tanya (I think) was incredibly nice and good at her job. We unfortunately made the error of staying down the road at the Ponderosa Inn ( otherwise known as the trailer park that charges an arm and a leg for twin beds and the lovely sound of your nieghbor ...

Great Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/07
The staff of the King Ko is as friendly as you will find in any hotel in the world. The bar is absolutely the best and the rooms and restaurant are as good as they get in Alaska. This was my best stay in Alaska. Highly recommended

Be Real - This is not NYC
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/07
I am amused by travelers who compare all tourist facilities to large comopolitan areas. I have traveled the Alaska bush for years and, believe me, this is the finest facility that Alaska has to offer. If you are looking for a mint on your pillow and a shoe polishing rag in your closet - don't come to Alaska. If you are looking for great accommocations and great people - Alaska style - stay at the King Ko Inn.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/05
When going on an alaskan adventure, make sure not to book a cabin at the King Ko Inn. The service was horrible, we were not allowed to do our laundry after many days of fishing, the bartenders were extremely rude, the beds are ancient and gave us all back aches, and its overpriced for the value of the place. I am telling all my friends not to ever go there!
