This is the best B&B we have ever visited; and we have been to plenty. The Innkeepers were friendly and helpful, the food was exceptional and our room was beautiful. Thank you for a great get-away!
The State House Inn is everything I hoped it would be; friendly, quaint, and comfortable. The breakfast is great- I especially liked the individual cup coffee maker which provided hot, fresh coffee. We were able to walk downtown and to the RISD Museum.
People always make the difference for me and the folks who work here are very welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and very charming, not a hotel feel for sure. If I come back to Providence I will be sure to stay here. We had dinner at the Capitol Grille and would recommend them also, though they were a bit pricey.
Hard to get to from downtown and in a very sketchey neighborhood near the state house. Our room was very loud with the highway being so close. Breakfast forget about it!!
We have been coming to the State House Inn for 4 or 5 years now- the only time they have disappointed us is when they are full and don't have a room. We love the breakfasts and the location; close to downtown but in a real neighborhood. The owners are real people and the girls working for them are wonderful (and good cooks, too.)
I travel alot for work and always try to stay in a Bed and Breakfast. The State House Inn impressed me because of the very friendly people working there; from the woman who checked me in to the housekeeper. My room was very clean and I enjoy the folk art paintings and overall cheerful feel to the house. Breakfast was fun and very well prepared. I will recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to Providence.
The Innkeeper was a very warm, humorous character who really made us feel welcome and at ease. The breakfast was delicious and our room was excellent, including the bed which was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. We come to Providence 2 or 3 times a year and will always return to the State House Inn.
I like the historic feel to this inn, with the shaker furniture and folk art decorations. Our room (Room #5) had a canopy bed and a fireplace (and a cute folk art pig). We walked to the Mall, which is 10 minutes away if you walk slow, and we shopped and had dinner at Nappa Valley Grille. This restaurant was also wonderful- it has a California feel to it and great food.
Our romantic getaway was fantastic; we stayed in Room #5 which has a canopy bed and fireplace and had a great dinner a Raphael Bar Risto. The friendly ladies at the Inn made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We will return the next time we need a romantic retreat.
