I travel a lot for work and regularly stay in Bloomington. I have stayed at several hotels off the interstate and have found the Hawthorn to be the cleanest, friendliest, most affordable accomodations in the area. Be catious of neighboring hotels, some are dirty and not worth your dollar. Breakfast is always great, the rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly!

I tried this place after reading the reviews and was very disappointed. The 3rd floor and our room which was supposed to be a non smoking room smelled like stale smoke. The coffee maker had not been cleaned and the floor wasn't very clean. There were 2 burned spots on the carpet, blanket had two holes in it and the bed linens had stains that looked like (can't say it here) I will not stay here again.

This hotel surpassed my expectations with decor, cleanliness, and service. I was shocked into a pleasant speechlessness! You will not get a hotel as nice as this for the money elsewhere. This is going to be my spot from now on!

Great place to stay! Clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, great rooms. The hotel was in great condition. The hotel was not crowded and we were suprised with that as it was very nice. The front desk were helpful with questions, and it was very affordable. I would recommend this hotel for families or business travelers.
