This hotel was conveniently located on the bay and a block from the beach. My church group went and for the amenities offered, this hotel was the best decision for our group. The rooms were spacious and allowed many of those participating in our trip to cook inside the room equipped with a full kitchen. There were minor problems with the phone ...
The hotel is a older hotel with new paint. It was clean and very spacious. We had the standard 2 queen beds with a refrigerator and microwave. The first night we stayed they only had a handicap room. The next morning I requested a regular room. They were able to comply with my request with no trouble.
The room was very clean. The cleaning crew was polite. Great location. There was a mishap with our room when we first checked in, but it was quickly resolved. We had wanted a room with a jacuzzi and somehow had two queen beds instead, but they switched rooms for us and we didn't have to pay the difference. Received a smoking room, we are non-smokers and could not smell the residue. Overall good stay.
The rooms are very spacious and clean. There is a balcony for every room over looking the bay. Breakfast is served every morning of donuts, toast, bagels, cereal, fruit, juice & coffee. The pool area is very scenic and relaxing. The island during the week is very laid back and not crowded. Pirates Landing & Schlitterbahn is a MUST GO!!! Definately everyone who goes to S.Padre should visit Sea Turtle Inc.
The hotel was great overall. We were there over Christmas vacation. They had a wet paint sign on the door to go to the pool area and the whirlpool for over a week, while we were there, they should of just said whirlpool not working. Two light bulbs burnt out during our stay and they would not replaced because of no maintenance during the holiday. ...
We tried Howard Johnson for the first time and it will be the last visit. Once we opened our door to the hotel room, there was an instant smell lingering. We drove to Port Isabel and bought a few candles at the local grocery store. I figured that the humidity may have had something to do with the condition of the room. The following morning, my ...
The only complaint I had was that I was under the impression that I would be ON the beach!!! The people were curtious and I didn't have any problems with noise. My boys and I enjoyed the stay, the garden tube we had in our room was great. We were on the first floor, RIGHT in front of the pirate's den and I don't remember noise as a matter of fact I almost walked over for a few drinks. Over all we had a very satisfying stay.
The clerk was unaccomodating. The water presure was low. We had a difficult time getting towels. The doors to the balcony were loose as were the rails on the outside. Areas in the rooms were stained and rusted. It was close to the beach, but for the price we paid, I would not recommend this hotel. It gives HOJO a bad rep!
My dislikes start off with the power going out and water pressure going low. I was hoping to get a refund of some sort but it did not go that way. Also we did not even get enough sleep due to the power going out and the room was extremly hot. I would not recommend the hotel due to poor service and not enough to call it a luxury hotel.
This hotel is in the center of the island. It is close to everything. It was clean and the staff was helpful. We even stayed an extra day with no hassles. My girls enjoyed the pool. It is nicely landscaped and quiet. Our room was very large. 1 king and 2 queen beds with a jetted tub and a kitchen. The breakfast is stocked with a variety of ...
