My husband and I stayed at Windy Hill in Oct. 2008 (during the worst flooding in Belize in almost 40 years) while we visited our daughter, who is living in Benque. We wanted a place that was very close driving distance from Benque, which Windy Hill is (5 minutes). While we were there we checked out several of the other nearby resorts, and they ...

Stay Away

We wanted a nice, comfortable place to stay in the Cayo district of Belize. Instead, we got rock hard beds, terrible showers, and surly management. Worse yet, the rates are very high. There are so many nicer places in and around San Ignacio, do yourself a favor and pick one of them. The Windy Hill Resort is a dog.

Can't beleive it!

I cannot beleive the negativity in some of these reviews! I have been travelling to Belize for the past eleven years and have stayed at Windy Hill Resort (used to be Windy Hill Cottages)on many occassions and have always had nothing short of a fabulos experience. I have gotten to know the Hales family very well over the years and I have nothing ...

Would return in the blink of an eye.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/07
We were there in March/April 2007 and had a great stay. The cabins are fine, the food was very good, although if you stay for more than a week, somewhat repetitive. I've travelling to many countries, and would rate Windy Hill staff as very friendly and helpful. I find it hard to believe the negative remarks on this page. Can't help ...
Windy hill resorts was a truely disappointing experience. The resort website stated that they helped guests with transportation to and from Belize city, however, they refused. The customer service at this resort was the worst I have ever encountered. The hotel staff were not helpful with matters pertaining to general transportation questions on ...

Great Rustic Resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/07
I recently spent half my vacation time at the Windy Hills Resort and wished it could have been longer. The tours were excellent and views spectacular. It is a laid back atmosphere with a very friendly staff and knowledgeable guides. Whether you want to go be active or lounge by the infinity pool all day, the Windy Hills Resort has something for you.

Windy hill seriously doesn't belongs to Belize because Belize is a Pearl.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/07/06
I got to say that everything is overpriced,we've experienced the worst staff and commodities. They got old fans which make noise all night long, and the food is pretty disgusting because of the way they prepare it. Don't ever plan going to Windy hill Lodge!

Not Worth It
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/05
We stayed for a week this past June and the staff was rude, everything was overpriced, and substandard. They did have a pretty pool but even so this was more of a nice motel not a resort.

Windy Hill Didn't Blow Me Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/04
Overpriced, surly staff, ancient accommodations. I have nothing good to say about the hotel. This is Internet marketing at its worst. Try the San Ignacio Resort Hotel instead. Less $$$ and a nicer place, close to town.
