The rooms are very basic. The hotel needs a serious upgrade although we stayed in an upgraded room. Hotel staff need to be trained and more flexible to accomodate tourists. Breakfast is basic - menu needs a serious upgrade. Very hotel for someone looking for a place to sleep
The Awana is a mark of value for money, usually frequented by honeymooners and those with family. We had stayed at other Awana hotels before (Genting and Kijal) each of them has its own charm. Our room was overlooking the sea, with beautiful vista in the morning when the sun rises. As we went there during the school holidays, the breakfast hour was ...
The hotel was so "cold" when I was there. It just like being at Mediterranean. Also,we can see the panoramic view of islands at night or day.And one more thing, the hotel doesn't far away from the town.It just take 10 minutes from Kuah.

My family and I have a holiday at Awana Porto Malai on 10-13 June 2007. Before i went for the stay, i was a bit worried about hotel accomodation. I have read few reviews before the stay and some praise but not least also negative statements. However, thanks god. Everything was going smoothly, from the breakfast, the room service, the lobby service ...
I'd been staying in Awana Porto Malai during 26th-28th June, 2006. The scenic splendours of the greens made a strong impression on me. I was inspired too when strolling along its breezy boardwalk of the Mediterranean-design Port. Awana Porto Malai is undoubtedly a charming holiday resort destination.

I took a 3D/2N package offered by Awana - the lover's escape package for RM.625. It came with a sunset cruise & a candle light dinner with wine, daily breakfast, return airport transfer, bathtub filled with roses & a photo album etc. Everything was done excellent. The room was thoughtfully decorated & scented. It was clean to the core. The ...
The view is simply enchanting. Price is not expensive either, worth every cent. Though there is no beach, but the view of the Mediterranian style port is sufficient enough. I do recommend Awana Porto Malai if u wish to stay in Langkawi.
