This was my first trip to Seattle, and Red Lion on Fifth Avenue helped me fall in love with the city. Right in the heart of the downtown, it's close to galleries, shops and restaurants. I stayed here while attending a convention at the Seattle convention center, and the location of the Red Lion to the hall was very convenient. It was also close to a number of good restaurants, plenty of shopping and tourist attractions. The price was a bit much for me staying by myself, but it was definitely worth it.

Staff was aloof and uncaring. They appear to have a "thing" going with Limo's over Taxi service. We were given an expensive Limo as opposed to a less expensive taxi. Never go back again!
Also, they have a woman concierege with a horrible attitude

I stayed at the Red Lion on 5th in oct of 07. Although close to many locations, the staff was extremely unhelpful and rude. My complaints fell on deaf ears, and even my comment card was responded to with a form letter.

I would not recommend staying here. Instead, try the W or the Westin. Both of those are lovely hotels in the same price range.

The location is proper, where it is near togo anywhere (specially for shopping.
At the beginning, we got the small room at the corner side room but then after asked the reception to move in the bigger room, she changed our room to the bigger one with a great view.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Red Lion on 5th in March of 2003. We were charmed by the décor and the very helpful staff. The room was clean with a view of City Centre. It was also large enough to accomodate about a week's worth of mess and souvenirs. There are two possible exits, one towards the City Centre and one towards Pike Place Market. ...
