First of all you will need to pay $30 a night to park as a guest
Second, hope you don't lose any item in the hotel room, because you will never see it again and the staff will not be concerned at all that you've lost it...even if it's a pair of glasses that you cannot see without!!
Third, beware the $630 hold they put on your bank ...

Nice hotel but the tub didn't drain!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/08
3 of us shared a suite. It was a bit tight, but loved the decor. The bathroom was very small for 3 of us, and the tub really needed some attention since it didn't drain. When we got to the room, they didn't have our towels or supplies there for us so we had to call for those. They didn't restock our in-room coffee supply etc the ...

its like coming home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/12/08
I always stay at the Monaco (formerly 5th Avenue Suites) when I am Portland on business. It is far better than a business hotel though. I call it coming home. It is very comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and free Starbucks coffee in the mornings and wine tasting 5-6pm (for a small donation) in the lounge give it a point of difference.
Although arrangements were made prior to my arrival, I was incredibly pleased with the selection. The hotel is located in the downtown area, close to restaurants, shops, and life. Hotel staff were extremely helpful in recommending places to dine and arranging car service. I had the great fortune of returning to the hotel early one evening to the ...

Fabulous

I loved the funky decor, the staff was great, we even received a call the day ahead warning of us the parade route that could cause problems arriving at check in time. Our suite was large and very well stocked with 'additional' items that could save many folks a few trips to a lobby shop. The Red Star was equally excellent. We will definitely stay again.
We decided to stay in this Hotel for our 5th anniversay. It has a great location for downtown shopping, but for the price, I was a bit dissapointed. It was an "OK" Suite, however, the sofa in our room was pretty worn, along with stains on the cushions. The shower in the bathroom was not cleaned well at all. There were ...

Beyond Expectations

The 5th Avenue Suites was top notch from the beginning. The front desk welcomed us like a regular customer. They were very friendly and nice. I mentioned our anniversary when I booked the room and we found our room filled with rose pedals on the bed and chilled sparkling white wine in our room(no extra charge). The room was so spacious and unique. ...
Went to Portland over the summer and stayed here. Walking distance to shopping and public transportation. Close to the water and good restaurants. The room was quite nice. Loved the sliding door divider which gave us some privacy from my 5 year old daughter. Bathrooms were nice sized and had nice Aveda amenities. Would stay there again.
I am a very picky consumer and I can't find anything wrong with this place. You are greeted by name consistently, the service is offered before you realize you need/want it.
