This is my favorite place to stay, by far, when visiting the city. The location is great - close to the Bart and North Beach. The staff is great. Rooms are wonderful and I love the DVD checkout system rather than hoping something good is on TV. With two small kids at home, I rarely get to see movies, so I get caught up at the Orchard.

At first approach, we were unsure where to put the car, because daily parking rates were high (of course). However, the staff was so friendly and so very, very helpful, they directed me to a less expensive parking ramp down the street. We checked in quickly and easily, the valet helped us make contacts at the sights we hoped to see and we were in ...

The bed's at the Orchard are really comfy and each room comes with relaxing sleep CD. Not only that, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I encourage my family and all of my friends to stay there whenever they go to SF!

I had read fabulous reviews on this hotel so I booked it based on those reviews.

The good:

A GREAT VALUE FOR THE PRICE. WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN!

Stayed for 4 nights in April 2004 and found it an excellent value. It is within walking distance to many sites -- it's especially close to Chinatown.

The rooms are small, but lovely, with many amenities. We found is to be one of the quieter hotels - a BIG plus. VERY comfortable beds and linens.

The service was exceptional and the rooms are so comfortable and a good size for the city. The beds were comfortable and I love the robes in the room. The restaurant downstairs was never very busy but had excellent food. Union square with great shopping is very close by and the trolley car is right outside the door I'll definitely visit again!
