the only let down was my travel company from the u.k. thomsons they did not let us know the hotel had been closed for a month before we arrived. go, the hotel is the best in every way, use the other riu hotels and see why we end up at the palace, better than cancun from hastings england

Beware!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/08
Recently stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico this past weekend 12/3-12/6 (was supposed to stay until the 7th but we requested to be transferred to another hotel) and we had items stolen out of our room 2 times during our stay. We were on the ground level with a grassy backyard before a hedge and fence. The front desk staff was not helpful whatsoever ...

Best Vacation Ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/08
We travelled with 2 toddlers 22 months old. The service was wonderful, the food was fantastic and the place was a dream. We especially enjoyed the Brazillian restaurant although we didn't find any place to not have delicious food. The buffet was fantastic, too. We've probably been to 20 different all-inclusives in the Carribean and this one was the best.

Hotel & beach were gorgeous. For all inclusive it is a bomb in that food selections & PREP were horrible. The restaurants were awful as well.Drinks were syrupy and improperly made.Staff was nice; this rating of a "D" is most likely in my opinion, a lack of knowledge, skill, & training to the staff.

Just go there!

This all suite resort is absolutely breathtaking! Service was unrivaled. All staff was helpful and courteous. Four gourmet restuarants, with food beyond belief, even the buffet was elegant. This was the first time we had stayed at an all inclusive resort, and will certainly not be the last time. Will return again most likely in 2008. The only ...

The best holiday/hotel ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/08
We went on our honeymoon back in July 2001, and to this day i sing praises to everyone about our experience. People are friendly, helpful and cheerful. Definately recommend this group of hotels, and i would definately go back.
If you are ever headed to playa, stay here!! The hotel itself is beautiful with all granite floors. The servive was awesome, you were never without food or drink unless you just wanted to be. There are plenty of outside tours to take, but the resort itself just has a nice, laid-back, relaxing feeling to it. My family and I are planning to go back next January.
