We paid extra for a canal view which was well worth it. It was a little noisy but being woken up by gondeliers singing and motor boats zooming past was offset by the quiet moments when all you can hear is the water of the canal gently lapping outside the window or being able to sit in bed and watch the traffic on the canal.
