Rooms are GRIM but the veranda is pretty. For a few bucks more you can stay in the best places in town.

Heaven in Honduras
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/05
Our stay at La Madrugada was fabulous. Sitting on the veranda, surrounded by flowers, enjoying a wonderful breakfast prepared to perfection by Celestina is my idea of heaven.

We felt right at home!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/13/05
I just got back from a trip with Jorge, the owner and guide. I couldn't say enough good about it. Copan is a step waaaaay back in time; people still rides horses inside the town! But the hotel is charming and Jorge is wonderful. The weather in February was perfect although it might be very hot in the summer. Go! You'll love it if you have a genuine interest in archeology.

Madrugada is great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/22/04
I've stayed here three times and the charm never fades. The food is the best, the staff is like family and the rooms are wonderful. The veranda overlooking the little brook is a great place to hang out, read, visit. Shopping is just a short walk away. This is one of the great places to stay, anywhere.

You won't be disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/04
Our stay at Madrugada was great! When you first get there, it doesn't look like much, but as soon as you come in the view is magnificent. It's cozy, and oh the food! Celestina is the best! It's about 10 minutes from the ruins (Copan). Ideal for reading a book layin on the hammock! Great little gem!
