The large room needed an easy chair. I could watch the vagrants sleeping on the library steps across the street. The room was separated from the adjoining room by a wood door. I could hear verbatum the conversations in the next room. The TV was postage stamp size. Th exterior was cobered with cracked an peeling paint. The staff was poorly trained. ...
The establishment was difficult to find, but was charming inside. The staff were friendly, and valet parking was efficient. Parking otherwise would have been a bear. Breakfast was nothing special, coffee lukewarm. Rooms were fine, clean, nice bedding, somewhat run-down furniture. When I asked about internet, they put me in a room that gets better ...

Very misleading website! I'm sure this USED to be a lovely establishment as several locals told me how wonderful the Linden Row WAS!
The large room was sparsley furnished and everything looks very rundown.
Unbeknownst to me, this is located in a bad section of town as my car was broken into and my stay was less than 12 hours! I only ...

Then at bedtime I pulled down my covers to find my bed FULL of hair I checked the other bed and it was the same way. I called the front desk they brought up clean sheets but I had to ask them to make the bed as they were just going to hand them to me. They had no ...

Didn't Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/07
I need to whine here - please forgive me. Didn't get a chance to stay - had two rooms reserved for tonight, a weekend trip for my mother-in-law. Mother-in-law became ill and I called to ask if I could reschedule rooms for a later weekend, offering to upgrade to better rooms which meant I would spend more. Was told that I had to pay for ...

What a nice experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/07
I am very picky about hotels, especially the night before a race when I need my rest (I'm a runner). This hotel was so nice...it was clean, our bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious and our room was charming. Please note...parking is a tiny bit of a hassle, but it was worth it. It's not only a nice place, but an excellent value. We will stay here every time we are in Richmond.
We stayed out in the garden, the old kitchen. Poe played in that garden as a child with his friend, Helen, who he wrote To Helen for. There was a friendly ghost in our cottage. I could smell delicious food all night as I slept in the room, & nobody was cooking. When I awoke there was a slender black ...
If you are looking for something generic, go somewhere else. If you are looking for an eclectic, historic experience, look no further!
High ceilings, antiques, great downtown location at a value price.

Valet part = Dent, Dangerous Neighborhood
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/06
Stayed there one night and the place has NO PARKING Garage. They do have a valet parking for $11 PER DAY. Two days after the trip I found a dent the edge of my driver seat door. The Parking person slammed the door against something and wasn't honest enough to tell me. Of course when I tried to contact them, they take no ...
