This place is a huge waste of money, stay some where else! A/C so loud and ineffective I thought I was in an old motel with a window unit. There are no fridges or microwaves in the rooms, internet costs $10/day (come on Westin!), mold in the bathroom under peeling wallpaper, the water temp went from luke warm to scalding and back again during ...
In response to the reviews reference the Westin Oaks Houston . . . I want to let our guests know how much we appreciate their responses and to inform all that we are actually in the development stages of planning some renovations.
We have recently replaced all the beds throughout the entire hotel with new Heavenly beds.
Not a good place if you want quality for your dollar.
Needs major renovations. Carpets need to be replaced. The toilet never worked properly, mold on the bathroom tub walls, big black hairs on the bed. Its like the housekeepers were throwing a party and forgot to clean after they left. Very nasty!
I expected more out of a Westin than this.
p.s. the elevators do not work half the time

old and musty

This hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. The rooms are old, the carpet is worn out, the tv are 15 years old. Nothing great except for the location. However, the Sheraton Suites is one block away and much nicer, newer, rooms are much bigger, and cheaper.

Weekend rates are overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/07
Great location, over-priced for weekend stay with family. Last time I reserved a room via Starwood I spoke with someone in another country who didn't know the first thing about good customer service. He was rude and gave me incorrect information.

Not enough Bang for the Buck
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/07
This hotel is great for the location. It is connected to the mall which is good when you want to shop and just have different things to do. Their are numerous little stores, resturants and different things to do this little area. What I dislike about this hotel is the rooms which were disappointing. Everything is a fee here. Bottled water ...

Sick Building
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/04/07
Of my last four trips to this hotel, I've come home with a bacterial infection 3 times. One trip two times ago, my room smelled like sewer and I asked to be moved. I won't be staying there anymore (first time, shame on you, second time, shame on me, third time, I should be shot)

Good but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/06
It is great rooms and great location but they really are bad service... Their food is good if you are okay with waiting an hour or 2 right when you get in in the middle of the night....... Seems like there is no one there to help and seems very small...... Still a great hotel

What a great place!

I loved this hotel, and you can't beat the shopping. Connected to the mall, it makes for a nice relaxing day to not have to fight the traffic. There is nothing bad to say about it!

Keeping My Husband Happy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/05
I liked all of the above "overall experience" I checked.
We lived in a very small town and I had to go to Houston to shop. My husband hated shopping. However, two to four times a year I would check us into the Westin Oaks Hotel, therefore, I had the entire Galleria to come and go as I pleased and he also had plenty of comforts in the ...
