ok a lot of the reviews here must be from people who never left the country before, this is mexico , things will be a little different.

The hotel has an age restriction so if you want to stay at a place that doesn't have children around this is the place to go. The buffet is very large and has decent food although it got old after a few days as the selection didn't change much day to day.

When i got there instead of ocean view i got a road view. My air cond leaked water all over floor after about hour running. They told me not to run it because it would mess it up. This place is horrible. Nothing to do but sit around like old people, and i am 34 years old. No activities or fun stuff to do. The Gekko Bar was unattended everynight, the food was WAY out of the ordinary. I would never go back.

i just came back from cancun 6/12/08. i enjoyed completely. only being there for 4 days, the staff knew my name and what i was drinking both at meals and at the bar. very relaxing,i visited the spa and the service was great! there isn't much night life at the resort,but you go into town for the night life. i will stay at the grand playa again and my mother stayed there last year.
