Want to return summer 2009
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/08
We visited Gettysburg this past summer and our stay at The Doubleday Inn was very relaxing. We sat out on the patio in the evening and watched the fireflies and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. We shall be returning hopefully this coming summer and stay there even longer.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/08
You will not be sorry if you stay at the Doubleday Inn. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the inn itself is outside of town so you can have peace and quiet if you wish to sit outside and enjoy the views. The innkeepers were more than willing to share their knowledge of Gettysburg and points of interest that would make your trip more enjoyable ...

It was just perfect!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/26/07
We hoped for a restful experience at the Doubleday Inn, and we were not disappointed! It's located on the battlefield, seemingly miles from town, but actually it's just a short ride into Gettysburg.
We experienced sunrises, singing birds, and sunsets on the battlefield, ...sumptuous breakfasts, afternoon tea and homemade cookies; ...

This is the only Inn directly on the battlefield, out of the very busy and noisy downtown district. We started each day with a quiet walk around the ...

Doubleday Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/04
The ideal location for location and service. Breakfasts enabled social contact with fellow guests (American & French (I am British)). Questions whether they be of the American Civil War or the birdlife were discussed. The situation is such that if you (or your partner) desires relaxation during the day (sketching, reading (from the extensive ...
