We were glad that we scheduled a tour of the Mission Inn. It was about 75 minutes long, but we learned a lot about the the Inn and its original owner. The service was excellent. The staff was cordial. The next time we will splurge on a more expensive room which faces the courtyard. We ventured out on a self-guided tour and found many quaint ...

We will never go back again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/05
Unless you support businesses who openly fire their employees in public, you will not want to go here. As we were checking in we heard some arguing going on in a back room of the front desk where we heard a manager tell someone to "get the hell out of here.... you no longer work here, your fired". My wife and I looked horrified and asked ...

Picturesque to the Max!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/05
I couldn't stop taking photos of all the tucked away and obvious treasures in this gem of a hotel. It's lavish architecture and historic richness are captivating. I can't wait to return!
Are you a Europhile with the need of a culture “fix”?. If you want to visit a historic locale that has the real feel of being in Spain, without the plane, you will be pleasantly surprised at the Mission Inn. Located in ‘beautiful downtown Riverside”,. this National Historic Landmark is has just celebrated it’s 100th year anniversary! Having ...

Beautiful but noisy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/05
Difficult to get a room that is quiet. Either have the street noise or the train noise.

Basic rooms not desirable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/05/05
Actually in the room using free City Library wifi this minute. Unless you pay for an expensive room, you'll find that the "cheap" rooms are mediocre and noisy at best. If I decide to return, I would no doubt stay in one of their better rooms facing the center courtyard. Hearing the trains and their whistles in the middle of the ...

There is none like it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/05
One of the reviews said the rooms are old and smelly... I have to say to this that this hotel is a historic mission, it has life to it. It is not meant to be a resort and spa. The whole point to wanting to stay there is the history, they didnt tear down all of the rooms to make new perfect ones because that is one of the most charming and amazing ...
This is not only a beautiful place, but the food is wonderful. It is like escaping to Spain while still being inside the Inland Empire. Highly recommend it!

I loved my stay at Mission Inn. My wife and I go there every month bas our special date. It's quiet and elegant, no kids are running up and down the hallway like other hotels.

Old world Spanish style charm
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/04
The Mission Inn is more than a hotel, it's an experience. Built as a private residence and then added onto and turned into a hotel at the turn of the century, it encompasses an entire city block.
The rooms are comfortable and all have their own distinct charm. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite that included a dining table that ...
