Early 2008, after 2 years away, I planned a trip back to the San Francisco bay area. Years ago, in a San Mateo publication, I noticed and kept a tiny ad offering nightly lodging at $40, and a low weekly rate. An internet search shows up Firestone Lodge, now at $50 per night, but no weekly rates.
Also stayed here for the bar. The place isn't that bad -- pretty much what you would expect for a 1 or 2 star motel -- and it is super close to the convention center. Hard workers but bad people live there; It really has crazy people living there; Nice employees and owner; have been known to have bad items to go through there; It is in a great location from the mall and around a variety of restaurants; Close to a laundry mat and people are nice in the community; Close to Albertson's, Safeway, Starbucks and UPS
