We went on 2/1/08 for a wedding. 3 people in our group arrived early and had no trouble getting into our rooms before the 3 pm check in time. The staff at check-in, in the pub and in the restaurant all went out of their way to make everything perfect for the occasion. The room was superb, with a great Old English Inn feel - and the bed was divine!!

Faulty Towers? No,its Pelican Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/07
Non hospitable from the get go. We drove a considerable distance, arriving a bit early, so we asked to check in. "No Sir" check in time is 3 PM" said the hostess. "Your room is not ready" was the reply. Well okay, we'll go to the beach and spend an hour or so, no prob.
Back at 2:45 PM. Luggage in hand. We're ...

Great Ambience, Poor Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/07
I love the atmosphere of this place. I love to visit the beach, and have a nice pint afterwards.

Those last couple of people were insane

This place rocks! Imperial pints of quality beers, absolutely authentic, adorable surroundings, it's RIGHT by Muir beach, lattice work vines throughout the beer garden, friendly staff, and they've even got seating IN their fireplace. How cool is that? And no, this isn't a homer review. My girlfriend and I have literally gone there ...

Wedding Perils
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/06
The Pelican Inn did not follow through on it's own contract!! For our kids wedding this summer: They served roast beef instead of prime rib -the crab cakes were not the size of those we'd sampled - and the bruschetta consisted of stale bread with salsa on it. It appeared they were understaffed, although they charge separately for ...

Food and Loathing At Pelican Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
My wife and I were eager to bask in the familiar welcoming ambience of the Pelican Inn. Wrong. We came upon unattended obnoxious 10-yr-old boys lounging in the main dining room. The coaches of this group of over 20 boys should have been taken out back and flogged. They were arrogant and clueless and had audacity to fill the Pelican's outdoor ...
