My husband and I planned a weekend get-away for our anniversary and were severely disappointed in our lodging. Check-in time was 1:00 p.m., but we had to wait an hour before being shown our room. We initially waited on the unkempt front porch where employees were working, but no one even acknowledged our presence. The porch also included a random ...

Mangy flee covered cats were all over and something dead was under the porch by our room. The housekeeper was watching tv in our room so we waited on the porch while she vacummed. The long porch had trash on it, as well as the yard we walked by to get to our room. The room was dirty as well as unsafe....cracks under the carpet, an extension cord ...

We just got back from the Spring Pilgramage in Mississippi and Louisiana and our last night before we flew out was at the St. Francisville Inn. The girl that registered us at the main desk was very friendly. The grounds once you got past he beautiful Victorian front were very junky and unkept. There were probably 10 or 15 cats running around the ...
I cannot say enough good things about this place. The people were so friendly, the rooms very charming (antiques and interesting artworks--with comfy beds and en suite bath), the courtyard a tresure trove of mature plantings with a real old world feel. There is also a swimming pool, a huge front porch to rock on, and several very friendly cats. ...

A Quaint Inn to Remember
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/05
Having traveled south Louisiana extensively, St. Francisville has become our favorite destination and the St. Francisville Inn our favorite lodging. This small town is great to kick back and relax. There's plenty of sites to see, plantations and such, but we find relaxing in the courtyard at this Inn and strolling down the historic district ...

It was adequate, but I wasn't impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/05
This is a nice old home, and the rooms were homey and comfortable. The location was convenient, although the inn was right in the middle of town, next to a convenience store and across from an auto repair shop. You couldn't see these businesses from the rooms, so that's not too bad. The breakfast buffet was good (the grits were EXCELLENT) ...
This little Inn offers a tranquil get-a-way with beautiful flowers, trees and architecture as the backdrop. I always say I feel more like I'm staying with a great Aunt or relative than at a hotel, because you truly feel welcome and within walking distance of the shops and attractions. ...

A B&B with atmosphere...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/05
The St. Francisville Inn is a gingerbread encrusted somewhat creaky old home close to the center of town. It's historic and charming and the breakfast spread is generous with lots to choose from.
It's a home with two, I think, children in residence who seem not to mind that there are always strange people about.
Our room on the ...
