Spent our honeymoon here in 2005. We longed for peace, relaxation, and a cute Hawaian bungalo. Jackpot! Such a cute sleepy place. It's almost criminal. To cut costs we ate in a couple nights, using the kitchen. They also loan out Weber grills. Fragrant plumerias, the glow of torches in the evenings, and a great little brewery just a 2 ...

Golden Age Hawaii

Friendly; helpful staff. Secluded driftwood beach with spectacular sunsets. Cottages reminded me of an amply urnished;comfortable farmhouse. Great porch and lawn furniture. Hammocks on the beach were incredible. Not big on 5 star amenities but huge on hospitality and relaxation.

Felt like my own little farm house
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/06
We stayed here for five days in May 2005 and have been wanting to go back ever since. Which is why I'm looking at the web site 18 months later. The little cottage felt like a personal farm house. I didn't even mind the early morning cockroaches and lizards...typical of this type of climate, not a sign of poor housekeeping. With the five ...

Anxious to return this fall!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/06
We stayed at the Waimea Plantation Cottages last time in 2003. We had stayed there for three or four years in a raw and were never disappointed. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The location is outstanding and perfect for the activities we like to do.

Honeymooners beware!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/06
My husband and I spent the first night of our honeymoon here, but we insisted that they move us to a new hotel when we caught local kids peeping in our bedroom window. Obviously, quite a terrible honeymoon experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. AND, we were told that the local kids have done this before! :(

Not for everyone but we loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/06
We were here for a week on our honeymoon. The minuses: I booked an "ocean view" cottage with 1 bedroom and 1 bath. What we got was a cottage that was away from the beach, with no view and it was close enough to the main road to get some traffic noise. The plusses: we were given a 3 bedroom 2 bath cottage, VERY clean with a huge ...
If you want to feel like you've really gone to Hawaii, this is a great place to stay. These cottages are the same ones the plantation supervisors lived in long long ago. You will be in an out-of-the-way corner of Kauai and you'll get a great a feel for Waimea.

NOT TOO IMPRESSED
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/05
I enjoyed the privacy and having some space. I reserved an ocean view cottage, but was given one way back by the office, about 1/4 mile from the beach (which is not suitable for swimming) and the only view was a small slip of blue just visible from the edge of the porch. This isn't what I had been led to expect from their advertising. Also ...

we are going back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/05
we loved this place. the cottages are charming and the antithesis of a highrise hotel or a claustrophobic condo. they feel authentically 'period', have wood or tile floors, windows that open, lanais and kitchens. the grounds are beautiful, full of plumeria trees and wild chickens. it is deeply relaxing and the variety of houses ...
This would be our first visit and my big wish has always been to spend my honeymoon on Hawaii island, so my overall expirience is based on internet presentation
