the hotlel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the service was great. the pool was great. you are right near the beach and the ocean. my parents stay there 40 yrs ago. they love it. i would stay here again.

its my second home essentialy, the staff is so friendly and we know everyone. this is a very special place! you will most definitely love it. the service is fenominal, the beds are comfortable, the ocean view rooms have the best view of any hotel i know, and theres nothing that i can point out that is bad. mauna kea I love you, and i could stay there forever!

its my second home! everyone at the hotle is friendly and enviting. the beach is the nicest i've ever been to, and the golf course is amazing!

This would have been our 5th visit in a row to spend a week in May. we were so sad to
hear about the earthquake.Over the years we
have probably spent between 15-20 times at

I have been to hotels and resorts all around the world (many of them 5 star places), but the one I always come back to is the MKB. There is a magic about the place that is beyond description. It starts the minute you leave your car and step into the lobby, which frames the beach and ocean as if it were a living picture.

In my opinion many of the hotels on the Big Island are dated, and need major renovations however the most spectacular aspect of the Mauna Kea is the beach. It is truly one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been on including many of the beaches I have been to on Maui and Kauai!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in May 06. It truly is the most beautiful beach in the world! Its a great place to go for R&R. Nice and quiet (mostly couples). The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff is extremely attentive. I highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful week on the Big Island staying at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. The reason to go to the Mauna Kea is the great beach. It doesn't have the best pool or the most lavish rooms but the beach is the best in that area and the grounds around the hotel are absolutely beautiful. If you are traveling with young children you may want to look into the ground floor rooms which provide easy access to the beach.
