The room we were given was shoddy and not clean. The walls were so thin that we heard the TV in the next room all night long and didn't get any sleep. We ate in the restaurant and the food was terrible. We will never go back here again!

Very shoddy accomodations

We were in 23-B. The door had recently been broken in as the woodwork and trim were newly and poorly applied. The area where the hinges are attached to the door jam were spintered. There was so much mold in the shower that I did not want to bathe in it. The carpets need replacing and are barely acceptable. I would not walk on them in my bare ...
I was truly amazed at how OFF-BASE some of these reviews are. Our family has spent at least part of August at this resort for the past 39 straight years - YES - 39 straight years. This resort was initially built in the 1920's as a fishing lodge and has grown over the years to a year-round destination for fishing, hiking, snow skiing, ...

Overpriced and Rude.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/08
A review for the Resort.... for the high Price of $209 per night we expected much more than a old, leaky, outdated cabin duplex. The stove did not work, the very thin windows leaked and dripped down the walls. The hot water heater is shared between units, so we had to take very short showers. The pathways were icy and should have been salted for ...

I have been going to Diamond Lake for more then 50 years and years, the Resort is old but you have to remember when it all was started. Now for the last 5 years we have been going in the winter and for the a winter sport Resort the location and value is out standing.
We eat out every night and the food is as good as you will find any place. We would have to say the food is excllent.
Our family used to go to Diamond Lake every January for years to X-country ski. We stayed in the cabins. I remember it as always being clean and inexpensive for what you got. I haven't been in years and had hoped to return this Jan 2007 but after reading the reviews as well as visiting the web site, I'm having concerns. If there have been ...

Ok but need upgrades
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/06
We were there is September and the weather is perfect but that became a big issue because there is no air circulation and is very stuffy. Leaving the window’s open is the only option but of course that means lot of noise.I cannot imagine going there in summer. We stayed in Motel room and they are in need of some serious upgrades. The showers are ...

Diamond Lake need a face lift
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/05
I've gone to Diamond Lake for 20 years now. The staff are friendly and its a beautiful site and lots of good rec. The motels are a dump. There is no circulation in the rooms, no a.c. in the rooms and its a little smelly too. The cabins remobeling in the past has been pretty limited. I think if they are going to call it a resort they should do some major remodeling.

Terrible experience - don't go.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/05
we checked in about 6:30pm and went to our room which looked nothing like the picture. The TV cord was actually hanging across the corner of the room in the air. Very few amenities. No AC, so we had to open windows, which didn't help the heat very much. Tried to open the door but smokers outside made that impossible. Had to leave windows open ...
