Our room had two double beds with new mattress. Bedspread was old and could be replaced. The room is outdated however was fine for a weekend stay. We didn't use the pool. Ocean right across the street. Convenient location. Staff very friendly. The room smelled a little musty, however after running the air conditioning the odor improved. ...

MY HUSBAND USE TO SPEND HIS SUMMERS IN NAGS HEAD AND HE LOVES THIS PLACE...ALOT OF FUN MEMORIES FOR HIM. THEN, ON PART OF OUR HONEYMOON WE STAYED THERE AND IT'S JUST PERFECT FOR A GETAWAY. REASONABLE PRICES AND CLEAN ROOMS..WISH WE WERE THERE NOW. HOPEFULLY, WE'LL BE ABLE TO GO BACK SOMEDAY....MAYBE ON AN ANNIVERSARY.

Ever since I can remember going to the beach, I remember the Tar Heel Motel. Very comfortable, quiet and close to everything. The little feet on the bottom of the pool were one of my favorites as a child. I haven't been there in awhile, but I would most definately go again.

We stayed at this motel last summer, it was a great experience. Even my picky husband was very pleased. It is everything that a beach motel should be. It was very clean, great pool, and close to everything. Staff was wonderful as well. I would recommend the Tar Heel Motel to anyone that wants a quiet, relaxing outer banks vacation.

This is perfect! Close to the National Seashore , shopping and dining in walking distance, great beach across the street, heated swimming pool, 100% from the health dept. It is quiet, convenient and has free wireless internet access for a fraction of the price of places that are a bit fancier, but not as quiet, clean, or convenient. Super family spot.

Really liked the location. Liked the restaurant being so close. Kids really liked the pool. I liked the pool being so close to pool. Will return in the future!!!

Ok....So last time me and my boyfriend went there, it was awesome!
the Rooms were great and we had a great time there. its very peaceful, but if you want to go out into the nitelife, ur right there! its great!
im staying there on my graduation night and i cant wait!!!! its gonna be great!

Great Place with an ideal location on the beach and friendly helpful managers. This is what a beach motel should be not so fancy that you don't want to get sand on the carpet but nice, clean and functional. This is the best place to be if you want a true beach experience.
