The location in Old Town is great. The rooms are very outdated, dirty, full of bugs and way overpriced. The bed was like sleeping on a plank of wood. The bedding and towels were ancient and I thought it was hilarious the hotel had little signs all over the room saying you would be charged for all these items if they were missing at check out. I have no idea who would possibly want a broken toiletry holder or towels that feel like sand paper.

After being verbally yelled at by the manager of the Hacienda Hotel I decided to report this to best western. They then spoke with this manager who of course denied everything and closed the issue. I did not receive an apology or anything. Be warned, this is how Best Western does business.

They have a sign out front for $10 parking. We parked inside and they have a machine that takes cash only. I went into the lobby with my 3 kids to ask where I could find a ATM. Fantastic location, right in Old Town. Within walking distance to all the Old Town sites as well as the trolley that takes you directly into downtown San Diego. I've stayed here before and would stay here again. The room was quiet and very clean and comfortable.

I just returned form this hotel and could not have received better service. The staff was friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful to an out-of-towner who hadn't a clue about San Diego. The room was spotless--a charming place with beautiful views. Returning there after a full day of meetings was so relaxing, and the proximity to Old Town was great for a tourist like me who wanted to walk around.

This hotel has a good location and a nice look. Be forewarned, though, it's on a steep hillside, and there are many, many stairs to navigate.

Fun place the staff was great, but I had a problem with my room key, it wasn't programmed correctly and I kept having to have it reprogrammed, not a big deal, but somewhat annoying.
Roomservice was great, food was actually the correct temp when delivered.
Would recommend.
