If you want a clean room, convenient location to restaurants and at a fair price, the Bird is the word. If you're expecting the amenities of a Hilton or the Ritz Carlton, then keep driving . . . back to SoCal. Friendly owners, ample parking for mid-size vehicles, proximity to Jacks and Whiskey Creek and centralizied location to numerous fishin' holes all make The Thunderbird the place to stay.

Large rooms with bathtubs make it a good value for the price. Most other $55 motels in Bishop have small rooms and only showers.

With so many other choices in Bishop - I think next time I'll bypass Thunderbird. The location is good - right near Jack's. The little fridge in our room there was mold growing. The room itself was a bit dank and smelly.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO REST YOUR HEAD THIS IS IT. IT'S CLEAN AND LOCATED RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY. JACK'S IS ACROSS THE WAY AND HAVE GREAT FOOD. THIS IS THE BEST HIDDEN DEAL IN BISHOP

This is the best cheap place to stay on the way to mammoth. Very friendly owner, great location, realsonable price and large rooms. You can also walk to the two bars in Bishop. I'd say if mammoth is full, or you want a place to crash for less try the T-Bird!
