New owners and a new manager have brought fresh updates to this value-priced motel!

Enjoyed the new decor and the extra little touches--including in-room hair dryers and microwave & mini fridge in our family suite(3 double beds).

Budget & family friendly--no smoking & pet friendly. Plus, we could park right outside of our room. No lugging suitcases down hallways.

The room's decore was from the 70s and I think that's the last time it was cleaned. It had dark paneling on the walls, filthy carpeting, a bright blue toilet, sink & shower (complete with squashed bugs). This room should have cost about $30 but cost us $75 instead. The owner is unfriendly and belligerent. My wife and I were one of three couples who stayed at the Grant Hills Motel in june. We are all in our 40's and 50's and were touring on Honda motorcycles. Despite being nearly devoid of other motel patrons the owner refused to let us push our motorcycles under the motel awning during a thunder storm. We will not again stay at the Grant Hills under any circumstances.

love to stay here when in town visiting my frined, since we live 5 hrs apart and he works in galena, driving a dodge wich looks like a fire truck in all the senses lol
