I stayed at the Swanee in Nov 2003 along with 22 others. We could not fault the hotel - apart from the bar closed at 12.00. The staff were all friendly and the food was a buffet service with a very big selection of food and it was all yummy. On nice and hot days the staff brought the food down to the side of the pool which was lovely!!!

I wonder after recent events whether this hotel still stands. We stayed in Sept/Oct 2002 and were delighted with the service. The people of Sri Lanka are the most wonderful and hospitable. If you go please walk up to the main road, and visit the local primary school and tell them Anthony is thinking of them.

I stayed here in July 1983 and found it friendly, safe and generally well run. The food was excellant and had a choice of "western" style or local meals each day.
