I stayed in the hotel 6 times in the Eighties pre renovation
I will always remember its simplicity in beauty ,The dining room with curved windows the chandelier lit with candles on Tuesday nights .The real down bedding in the room with spectacular view, the surounding rain forest
The people I met for afternoon tea etc etc

Spent over a month a guest while conducting banking business in Zurich.A memorable place to stay, within the best of Swiss hotelerie. B eautiful surroundings and a quick trip to downtown Romer Platz in Zurich. Outstanding restaurant and a memorable bar, attended at that time by a memorable Swiss lady. I don´t know if the new version that opens in 2008 will be the same or even less better

The Dolder Grand is wonderful. Stayed there for a weekend in Spring 04. Very elegant, and the staff are wonderful. I have been to no other hotel which compares. They closed in 04 for renovation. I could not understand why. However, in 07 when it opens I will be back
