The main benefit is that the hotel is right at the edge of the downtown area. You are also very close (short walk) to the ferries to St. John & St Croix and the seaplanes to various islands. There is a free shuttle to Megan's beach but there is no beach at the hotel. The pool is small but very clean. The rooms are very clean. If you ...
Hotel is located in area of town that is vacant after the cruise ship tourists return to their ships. I did not feel comfortable walking around the area at night (but it was fun during the day). Unfortunately, our room faced a junk yard where people hung out and drank until the early morning. A rooster crowed at 4am. The room itself was shabby and ...
I let my travel agent pick this one for me and I wish I would have done some more research. The good thing about the hotel is the location. It's walking distance to Main Street and the shopping areas. It has an awesome view; if you get a front room. If you are on the side of back you are looking into allies. If you stay here and want to ...

We Will be back

We checked out of the Elysian to stay here. We were greeted by the best staff of five propoerties we've stayed at on the island. Very clean room, most Comfortable Bed on the island, and every staff person without exception was polite ( rare for St Thomas) clean and in a great mood. Our room overlooed the ocean and we loved seeing the boat ...

Good overall experience

The best part about this hotel is its location -- very close to shopping, restaurants, transportation, and ferries to nearby islands. Not too far from the airport either. Staff is helpful and friendly. The room (especially the bathroom fixtures) appeared to be old and on the shabby side. Can't complain about the overall hotel experience ...
It's been 10 yrs since I have been to St Thomas. The last time I was there I lived there for the summer. I was a little sceptical with the hotel and the great price, I was afraid it would be a nightmare. To my surprise the hotel was great! I knew the location would be convinient to town, but not so for the beaches. Rented a car and enjoyed ...

Just what I expected

Nice hotel within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and ferry boats to the other islands. Staff was helpful. A/C worked well.
Only drawback was that it is not near a beach, but I knew that when I booked the stay there.
I disliked the location but the hotel staff made me feel right at home i will love to returned back again.

This was my first trip to St. Thomas, this is a great Holiday Inn in the center of town. Staff was really friendly and accomodating, will definitely return.

I visited this hotel for 5 nights in July, 2004 and enjoyed it. It is close to shopping, eating, and the ferry to St. John. The free shuttle to Magen's Bay was great. The staff was friendly and the hotel was a great value. The staff was friendly and helpful.
