This is a trip back in time to the graciousness of the 20s or 30s. Quiet, excellant service, ddelightful unrushed meals and lovely gardens to stroll in. The view of Chichen from the lounge area is superb. Just wish the tour groups hadn't discovered it. We've stayed there several times and will again.

reservation waschanged to another hotel, Fiesta Americas, Merida which was phenomenally great! Food , service, room all top-notch. Close to town. Should have been $250/night.
A series of private bungalows, amid lush tropical gardens, on the grounds of Mayan ruins *** Indiana Jones eat your heart out!!
You can see the observatory from the front desk, walk where the ancients walked, and enjoy fine dining in the evening, followed by a stroll to your bungalow which is decorated with beautiful wood carvings.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/04
My wife and I have stayed at the Mayaland Hotel twice in recent years. The last time we took my daughter and her husband with us. It is absolutely a magical place. You cannot imagine sitting on the veranda of your palapa, drinking early morning coffee, and watching the morning fog/mist rise thru the lush landscaping. It was wonderful. The secluded ...
