Chautauqua was awesome! Growing up on the Oregon coast you learn not to have "high expectations" when you go to the coast. There are no 5 Star resorts, and if there were knowone would stay there. I've stayed at the other places in Long Beach and this place has (by far) the best view, a large indoor pool with Sauna and Hot Tubs, a ...
We had stayed here a couple of years ago and it was fine but needed a little updating. Decided to go back and was pleasantly surprised at the progress being made to update several of the suites and the hotel rooms. I can't imagine the upkeep needed with a facility like this being right on the coast and exposed to all of the toughest weather. ...

Suite 108- old, musty,dirtyfloors.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/09
Definitly false advertising from their website. The "Suite" we had #108 was old, only one tv had cable that worked, the floor was gross, cupboards felt sticky from god only knows what, the hot water would work off an on and when it did work it was scalding. Not safe for small children by any means. Apparently these "suites" ...
I have a large family and am forced to rent 2 suites in any other hotel I stay in on the coast. I obviously must save a considerable amount of money in order to take my family on a trip. Now, keep in mind I have stayed in Hotels all along the entire pacific coast and when my wife and I found Chautaqua we were sceptical. Our first stay was in the ...

I hated it. False advertising for a suite for sure. Old/musty/dirty...dog hair on bathroom floor., now that's digusting! I would have left on the spot if it weren't for my hubby. Didn't ever walk around without shoes.....shudder!Hubby was the only great thing about the place, besides the location. Would not reccomend nor ever go back. Do yourself a favor and just trust me on this one. Go elsewhere.....
We arrived to the hotel with our 5 young children on what we hoped would be a great family vaction....it was the worst we've ever had. My husband and I grew up going on vactions at Chautauqa Lodge, we thought we could share those great memories with are children. Instead we got rude staff, a cold pool, moldy bathrooms, and a broken toliet. We ...

We stayed for one to many nights
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/08
The rooms were old and moldy. No one really cared, they were doing construction. We left and found another hotel down the street.
I came to have a relaxing getaway with my sweetie, we booked a spa room. Not exactly luxurious but is what is described. Large King bed, nice view of ocean with balcony and the tub is nicely oversized. The restaurant was very good and decently priced, they even called our room to say it was ready. Overall will definitely return
We have had good memories here from past visits but this last visit tarnished it for good. This was a highly anticipated visit as soon as we could find time and we were very excited. As soon as we walked in, problems started. The front desk woman was rude, we asked about the restaurant being open, she said no, we asked if it would be open and she ...
