  • Poor experience
    By gaille, 07/18/06
Our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The lobby was beautiful and gave one the expectation of a wonderful experience but this was where it ended. Stepping off the elevator and entering our room we were greeted with a very musty smell. The carpets in the hallways were extremely dirty and stained. We had very poor response from the ...

  • Not recommended
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/06
If you want to stay in a room the size of cruise inside stateroom, then this is the hotel for you. If you like having service, then this is not the place for you to stay. Rang room service twice, they never answered. Had to call the front desk. They had to have room service call us back. Called valet, but their number was busy. Called the ...

  • A horrible hotel.
    By A Yahoo! User, 04/27/06
This hotel was nicely layed out, but horrible service.
For example, The bed in our first room was hard as a rock, the shower in our first room kept changing from freezing to burning, and the pool on the roof of the fifth floor was on LOOSE granite, which by saying that would nearly make you bleed.
When we asked for our room, they didn't help us move to it. They just gave us the key.

  • Excellent Hotel - But was overbooked by Yahoo Travel
    By Larry C, 04/23/06
When we arrived at our downtown hotel at midnight, we were told that the hotel was overbooked. This was during Spring break and the city was full of tourists. The hotel did finally find accommodations for us out at the airport. The room ended up being a day room with a sleeper couch and a rollaway bed. The next two nights were spent comfortably in ...

  • A wonderful hotel
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/05/06
My family and I truly enjoyed the St. Anthony. I believe that the hotel is one of the best, if not THE best, hotels I have ever visited and we travel a great deal. I really enjoyed the history of the hotel and it feels like it may have been 100 years ago since the architecture details still remain. Although it is not directly on the Riverwalk, it is only a short distance and also across from a beautiful park.

  • Small uncomfortable room with cold showers!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/02/06
My recent stay at the St. Anthony was horrible. I stayed there for a conference and that was the sentiment among everyone. I am a Wyndham By Request member and was suppose to get the "best available" room. That meant the smallest room I've ever stayed in with a nice 4 poster bed frame, lumpy full size mattress, and a nice cherry ...

  • Don't let the word historic fool you-
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/06
Don't let the word historic fool you; in this case historic means old and run down. The floor we stayed on smelled a little like a barn. The wall paper in our room was pea\eling. There was hair on the bathroom floor. The only thing this hotel has going for it is its proximity to the Riverwalk. This could be a really nice hotel, but only after extensive renovation.

  • I won't stay here again!
    By Kelly, 06/20/05
I booked this hotel because I got a 50% discount. It was not worth the money! The lobby and rooms are beautiful. However, when they say "Historic"-it means old! Our room had 2 queen beds and 2 full bathrooms. My husband took a shower and the water kept going from extreme hot to extreme cold. When I took a bath, I couldn't get any ...

  • Great Location
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/05
The hotel is as close to the Alamo (1/2 a block) as you can get and about two blocks from the river walk. Also within two blocks are several other tourist things to see and do. Hope to get back there someday.

  • We loved it ! !
    By mbeccah, 06/07/05
We received friendly service, as well as, excellent sight-seeing and restaurant advice. We had a romantic weekend in a huge, wonderfully decorated suite. A lovely stroll (2 blocks) to the river-walk. Beautiful & Historic - check out the photos in the lobby! If you search for hidden treasures - this hotel is one!

Also, when we left, I found ...
