I read some of the reviews from 2006-2008. The customer service has not improved since then.
We started off standing in line for over 20 minutes to get to the check in counter. It was 6 pm. There were 6 staff at the desk. Three were "helping" one family who had some kind of problem checking in. Two disappeared after helping that family ...

The staff is in need of some serious "Customer Service" skills. The lady at the front desk is a very unhappy lady, never smiled and seemed bothered. The resort is in need of serious improvement. The lobby looked dirty and had a nasty odor. The room however made up for the nasty lobby and rude lady at the front desk! 1 star for the room.

The staff was rude, even hateful! Absolutely beautiful place but the staff will purposefully harrass you in the late night hours! "Scratching on the windows", "movement of balcony furniture" (we heard their steps, stomping, etc.)" rudeness of the front desk people. I know it was off season, but why treat people so terribly and scare people asleep late at night! Nice place........bad staff....bad assistance. AWFUL!!!!

This was a birthday gift from my sister.The room was lovely, I stayed by myself . The hot tub,the beach, the slide , the view . This adventure is therapy for your soul and body.I would advise all to visit Port Royal.Planning a weekend retreat my sister,my best friend and me.I suggest you bring your camera. Visited the resort in April 2007.The pool is really huge,lots of room so you won't be crowded when swimming(although the water was freezing)the jacuzzi's were really crowded.The beach was great and so was the room we stayed in.It's a condo so there was plenty of space and the amenities in the room are great too.If you bring food from home you will save money on that part of your vaca!I do agree with the buildings needing a paint job.

port royal has the best pool, the newst features, but its not as good as the mayan princess. the mayan has the coolest rooms and is more private than port royal, port royal rooms were nicer than the mayan princess but they did not put much into beach decor. at port royal the room i stayed in looked kind of like a average house.port royals pool was ...

We stayed in May 2007...sea weed was knee deep all along the beach & no one told us before we came. Had to drive into town so my child could play on the beach. Needs paint, elevator working sometimes...I could go on & on!

Our family has stayed at many properties in Port A, for the last 20 years. The Sea Gull is a quiet property, with great servies at beach access. The photos shown are of the Port Royal property, prior to renovation. The pool at the Sea Gull is much smaller and does not have a slide or cabanas.
