Very elegant and comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, and historic sights. Concierge was great. Pool and courtyard area nice. Very Charleston!
Only downside was having a room with 2 double beds instead of queens for the 3 of us.
Small room. very over-priced. It is nothing more than a Holiday Inn with a nice lobby. The concierge is rude and very unhelpful. The service is non-existent. Valet parking is a very bad joke. There are many nicer hotels in the area. WE WON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE AGAIN!

One of our favorite places to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/09
The Mills House Hotel in Charleston SC was fantastic. The furnishings were beautiful and the service was outstanding! Definitely one of our favorite places to stay. All the fun things to do in Charleston was within blocks of the hotel.
We stayed at the Mills House while enjoying the Food and Wine festival and our visit was perfect. The hotel was gorgeous as was the view from our room. The hotel is just steps away from the best restaurants and entertainment in town, that's if you even want to leave their comfy bars downstairs. The staff was kind and efficient. Tripp Hays ...
The hotel's location is great historic district. That is all this hotel has going for it. It lacks many of the ammenities of other area hotels. The room was small, unclean and pricey. Never againI will I stay there again. There are many "as good" hotels close by and better priced. In fact it would have been a whole lot better to ...
Great location, but bathroom and room way too small, bumped into toilet after shower, and desk in awkward location. Quoted reduced rate, but then raised rate, did make adjustment when we questioned it. Had to ask for sheets to be changed. Breakfast mediocre. pretty room. Not our idea of luxury.

Our Stay 05-31-08
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/08
The Hotel is elegant, and the location is ideal for walking most anywhere downtown. We stayed on the executive level and found it to be quiet. Parking is either in a garage behind the hotel, or valet. Our room, for the price, was smaller than expected. The bathroom was very small. The service was not at the level of the prices they charge for ...

A fine Hotel, but....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/01/07
Frankly, the room was very small. Two people could hardly move about in comfort. The tea and holiday treats in the Lobby were excellent, but they disappeared too quickly. The location is first rate.
