Members of my in-laws family and I have stayed several nights at the Columbus - City Center Holiday Inn, 175 East Town Street, in Columbus, Ohio since 7/17/08. In general, we found the staff to be rude, lazy, and poorly informed. The rooms are generally shabby with stains on the carpets and furniture, patched holes in the wall, doors that do not ...
Our wheelchair basketball team stayed here while we were attending the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament on campus and we were more than pleased with our stay. The staff is awesome. Rooms are nice and the handicapped accessible rooms were the best we have booked yet. We would definitely stay there again. Marla at the front desk is very ...
The hotel has a staff that has the best attitude of anywhere I have stayed! There are the normal little glitchs as in anyplace that you stay; but they handled everything no matter what time with a smile.
My wife and I booked a "non-smoking" room. The entire room smelled of cigarette smoke. There was even a cigarette burn on the counter top in the restroom. We informed the front desk. We were supposed to have a non-smoking room but our room stunk of smoke. There was supposed to be a free breakfast bar which was closed for the two days that we were there. Also hotel restaurant is closed on sundays. Overall not a nice hotel and I will not stay there again. Very reasonable rates and now I know why.

Our room was too hot and we could not sleep due to not being able to control the temp in the room. The front desk did not care. They also could not give us directions ...
In the 15 years I have made yearly trips to Columbus, this hotel has shown a marked downhill slide. This past February (2006) was the worst. We had to search 6 floors before we found an ice machine, it took almost 3 minutes to get any warm water, much longer for hot, one elevator was out of service half the time, the rear entry door was hanging by ...

Although the public areas leave a bit to be desired, I was very pleasantly surprised when I spent the last 4 nights at the Holiday Inn City Center in Columbus Ohio! I got a very good deal, the room was very nice for the price range, the staff was very friendly and helpful from the check-in to the shuttle driver, and I loved that it is a "hot ...
