First of all the staff was so helpful and kind. They were just like the concierge in my high rise building. Since renovating it has become such a swanky place. It was more than a typical hotel stay. I was there for Halloween weekend and they also provided me with some great suggestions for Costume shops. They even offerred to be my personal ...
Before going to NYC I spent a lot of time researching the guest reviews of many hotels and decided on The Surrey because of the high rating for the beds and sq. feet of the rooms. It was nice to have a comfortable bed and space to move around after a long day of site seeing and walking. Slept wonderfully in the bed...great pillows too. It felt ...

My sister, nephew and I were displaced from my apartment during the NYC blackout in 2003 and had to evacuate my home. this hotel was in the neighborhood and we moved in to a 1 bedroom suite that was fabulous. under hard times, the hotel was gracious, did not take advantage of the situation and was so nice I thought about staying permanently. ...
In general I really do not have a serious complain. What could be regarded as one was seeing some furniture deterioration in the room I stayed and that was a definite sign of utter neglect. Where were the people concern? They should pay more attention to the way the maids do their job and correct it whenever it is needed. Regards, Maxie

I always stay here as it feels more like a city apt. than a hotel, love the staff and the location the best, best! I adore this charming hotel. It may not be the newest but it is an excelent hotel, a European freind told me that all her freinds stay here when they visit Ny and stay for a few weeks. She does too.
This place is such a great value. The rooms are huge, particularly the one bedroom suites which are easily big enough for four people with their full kitchen and dining area. The staff is friendly. The lobby is cozy and elegant. The location is fantastic, just a block from Central Park and walking distance to most of the art museums. Room Service ...

Since The Mark closed we have stayed at The Surrey and loved it. Friendly, helpful staff. Large, comfortable suites suitable for my adult son and myself. Great closet space which is important as we usually stay for two weeks. The neighborhood can't be beat. A block away from Central Park, close to the subway line, easy walk down to theatre district.

This was a really great hotel. It was very clean, friendly, and in a perfect location. It was also for a very reasonable price, considering its location.
The Surrey Hotel exceeded our every expectations! The rooms were clean and very spacious and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We were visiting our daughter for the weekend and the location was perfect with shoppings, museums, fine dining and Central Park all within walking distance. We definitely will be back. It's great to find a slice of "southern hospitality" in the Upper East Side of NYC!
