The place was just awful! The food - bad; the hotel room - dark, dingy and 40 years past renovation; the service - what service? Just bad..... especially when they had only like 5 guests!

you will be disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/07
The photos make it appear to be a very regal and comfortable destination but this is not true. The estate is isolated from any stores, restaurants, etc... The restaurant was closed for some reason so that means there is no food on site! You will have to either go to Tarrytown or Irvington for anything! The walls are thin and I could hear music ...

Exceeded our Expectations
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/07
The service was first rate! The staff as well as Joe the hotel manager, was very attentive. The grounds were well groomed and the breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to spend a weekend outside the city or anyone traveling into the NYC area but doesn't want the hassle of parking and traffic.
We'd come back tomorrow.

Nasty Horrible Breakfast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/07
I just cannot say enough about how bad the food was -- Terrytown estates has one of the worst hotel breakfasts I've ever had (and I'm even comparing that to what you get at a la quinta or holiday inn). What's worse is that they market themselves as an "exclusive bed and breakfast", and charge $25 for an extra person, so I ...

Elegant Mansions
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/07
Over 30 acres of gardens, 2 mansions and upscale guest rooms.
Front desk was very helpful with area attractions and the Village of Tarrytown has fantastic dining.
Go to the Pub in the Biddle Mansion, real brick fireplace and great ambiance.

Great Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/06
What a cool place. Layout was confusing but we took the history tour which was truly awesome.
Foliage is perfect and we hope to be back in Winter as the Village has many neat things to do and see.
Dining out offers tons of choices. We can't wait to be back to try some other restaurants.
Service at property is beyond reproach.

Estate on a Hill
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/05
After reviewing all area hotels we decided on Tarrytown House for my wife's birthday weekend.
WOW were we blown away. Over 25 acres of gardens, great breakfast buffet and a service staff accustomed to CEO's. We learned it is the nation's first conference center and although most amenities were geared toward business travel we had a ...

Beautiful location, gourmet breakfast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/11/05
What a great place to stay! Peaceful setting near the Tappan Zee Bridge. The room was fine and the breakfast was to die for!!View from the dining room overlooks hills to the Hudson River. Service great! Charming joining of two lovely estates into a convention center hotel. Easy to find but directions wrong on Yahoo, turn left off Broadway in Tarrytown, hotel on left. Highly recommend!
