Do NOT book a room at this hotel. I stayed for one night and checked out first thing in the morning. The rooms are filthy and the hotel staff is not helpful at all. The bathroom was dirty and contained used bars of soap in the shower and sink as well as empty bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Even worse I found someone else's hair in the ...

Old, dirty, poor service, broken windows, didnt feel safe, wasn't clean, had to ask for towels and had to go get them. Elevators small and slow. Would be worth the money to stay somewhere else.

Not so great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/06
shotty internet access, terrible access to rooms because of one slow-moving elevator per 12 floor hotel. Rooms were very small and expensive for being 4 block from Times Square. Wouldn't stay there again and wouldn't recommend it. They have some nerve charging $199 per night when same level hotels closer to Times Square were charging $149.99 a night.

Rats Now Playing off Broadway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/06
Unfortunately, I have read the bad reviews after my stay at the Super 8 in Times Square. The hotel is infested with rats, the staff is indolent, and corporate policy seems to be stiff the people as fast as you can. I work for the world's largest airline, combine that with employees and family of all employees, I will get the message out...if you like rats, try the Super 8.
This hotel was in great location. It was just a few steps away from 5th avenue. The hotel staff was outstanding. They accomedated my boyfriend and I very well. SInce our flight was canceled we had already paid for the room 1 day earlier than we got there. The policy states no refunds for cancelations within 24 hours, but they happily canceled the ...
average room, didn't wake up early enough for breakfast, they had a nice room for continental breakfast. walk to anyway in the city, definately will return for the price.
I have been staying in the Super 8 on 46th street for the last five years when I visit the big apple. A total of six differnt times. The sevice has been great and the location is in the center of it all. Times Square is a block and a half away. There are some great delis right on 46th by the hotel and if you hook a left turn out the front door there is a great little cigar store on the coner of 5th and 46th.

Location Great!

Excellent location. Older hotel with no frills, but if you want a convenient place for sleeping and enjoying New York, this is the place. Staff friendly and accomodating. The Smiths
This place is the PERfect spot for someone visiting New York for the first time. You will be within four blocks (walking distance) of almost everything near Times Square. We didn't need a taxi other than to and from the airport. Try the subway once to visit areas on the other end of the city. Our room was small but extremely quiet. Who hangs out in their room when they are visiting NY?!
