What else can I say, a DUMP!!! Run with your life!!!!!!!!!!! There shpuld be a law against charging for their rooms!!!!!!!!

In Taos, NM, one might expect dirt floors and a bulb hanging in the center of the room. But this is a great hotel, clean, everything worked, dining room was nice (but there is a LOT of great dining in Taos). Yes the mattresses are firm. Heat/AC worked great.

We stayed here for a night in a 2 bed suite/fireplace. the beds were comfy. There needed to be some maintenance done on the windows but the atmosphere there was great. The kiva fireplace was great! We happened to be one of only a few people staying on the "older" side and it was very quiet there. The sunset from our west facing patio was awesome! Maybe a bit pricey though for people on a vacation budget.

For a fairly large hotel, the Sagebrush Inn keeps a very nice atmosphere. My room opened onto a very pleasant courtyard largely buffered from the main highway to Taos. Rooms are old but well maintained and their charm outweighs their squeaky floors. Location is a bit distant from downtown, and lighting was a bit dim, but overall this was an above average value.

We recently stayed at the Sagebrush Inn and it was wonderful. We requested a room in the old part and it was full of charm. Our room had a fireplace and the wood was free (first bundle )plus it opened onto a very nice courtyard. The hotel was dingy . It needs a total makeover ! The mattresses were hard as a rock ! The windows wouldn't close completely and the door was difficult to open because it was warped. The power went out in a storm and we were trapped on the second floor ! No lights except the fire in the fireplace ! No flashlights either !

The location is far from the mountain
and the view is not so hot
