THEY ARE TURNING IT INOT THE BELVIDERE CONDOS. JUST WHAT DOWN TOWN RENO NEEDS MORE OVERPRICED CONDOS.
I MISS THE SUNDOWNER, THE SMALL BUFFET, AND THE LITTLE COFFEE SHOP THEY HAD. RITZ CARLTON? OF COURSE NOT!! BUT IT WAS A GOOD PLACE FOR LOCALS TO HANG OUT AND UNWIND.

The Sundowner Hotel/Casino has been closed for several years now and is in the process of going condo. This website should be revised accordingly. Too bad, it was a nice place while it lasted. I recommend the Sands Regency in the meantime.

Check in was a nightmare, very rude. Had to pay cash up front for duration of stay.

Came back to our room at 2:30am to find we were locked out.

Front desk informed us "that's what we do to patrons who don't pay their bills"

After telling our story 4-times we were escorted to our room by 2 security guards so we could retrive our reciept, and prove we paid.

It's cheap, and once you turn off the lights, it's all the same, only cheaper, so you have more money to spend elsewhere!!!
We just need a good place to rest, it's not like we are going to live there, but we don't want to spend $$$$ on a hotel if all we do there is sleep and shower.

The bartenders are friendly. Great drink coupons included with stay. Free parking. Great value on rates. Close to the big guys. Clean and comfy, you're only there to sleep, right? They have a pool, too! What more could you want?!?

If your looking for a place to stay while in Reno that has good rates and doesn't try to take advantage of a money making opportunity this is the hotel to stay in.
NOTE:- at the time of my stay, this hotel did not use water conserving appliances/faucets ect. enen though there was a local drought in the area.

Room service was prompt and the waiters were very polite.
The beds were perfect...the rooms were the cleanest I have seen in Reno.

Everthing was fine and at the right price, if you are only there to gamble.
