we were looking forward to our stay based on reviews. However, rooms were noisy (could hear neighbors next door and down the hallway), could hear outside bus and taxis, restaurant staff was rude (at the highly rated Chops restaurant...just average or less than average. Stay at the Hyatt or Westin--a much better value!
The picture on the website for this hotel does not do the lobby justice; it is a stunning Art Deco masterpiece, and you know right away you are someplace special. The staff were friendly and very customer-oriented.
The room was nice and spacious, and the bed very comfortable, but the A/C was too noisy to allow us to enjoy a great night's ...

Historic Property, poor service

Check in was fine and the valet was friendly and helpful. The room was small and cramped at this level. Ran out of toilet paper, only one half roll in the bathroom and no spares, ran out of tissue, only about five sheets in the box. Housekeeping replaced the spent roll, no extras once again. The did ot refill the tissues. Had four in the room and ...
It's such an amazing feeling to walk into the hotel and be hit with the historic beauty. The staff is friendly and it is nearby to most attractions. And the Phillips ChopHouse has great steaks and wine selection.

The hotel is beautiful. We had our holiday party there. The sales staff and catering staff were wonderful and did a great job. Our room was decorating nicely. Unfortunately is was on the back side of the hotel and we heard the loud squeeking of the building ventalation system all night. Add the that the occasional banging noise coming throught ...

We were expecting more room accomodations but were dissapointed in the shower handle that wouldn't stay in the right spot and was too hot in ...

We were in town from Florida- Midwest culture shock anyway-This hotel totally made up for the fact. Room was VERY clean, large and comfortable. Aveda product in the bathroom-LOVE THAT-Bed soft- View pretty good-we were on the 19th floor. Only downside is the parking..We had to wait at least 20-30 minutes for our car each time we went out..This was ...
I stayed at the Hotel Phillips on a business trip last year. The location was not bad, close to downtown, though it was not close to many restaurants or things to do. The hotel itself was quaint and historical, but could have used some maintenance and updating in safety devices. The hotel room doors are old, and caused a lot of loud noise to filter ...
