We celebrated our son's rehearsal dinner in the garden/courtyard area. The food was delicious, setting lovely, and service wonderful. We were very impressed with Stacey the general manager. She went out of her way to tend to details including remembering our request to have Irish music playing in the background. She followed through with such ...
After a day of sightseeing in St. Louis, I was looking forward to relaxing in our room on a Friday night. Instead, I heard loud, live band music coming from the bar below until midnight, followed by loud talking from patrons lingering down there. I was told by staff that this is what's done on Friday and Saturday nights. Wish I'd known ...
Be aware of your room ! Hotel staff checked out our room when we came back the hotel after sightseeing. Also, they threw out our important things that we requested them to keep their refrigerator. We blamed this to hotel manager thru email, voicemessage. But she ignored all. We couldn't meet hotel manager. They are terrible.
I am a frequent business traveler to St. Louis and decided to try the "quaint" Seven Gables Inn. I booked my room 3 weeks in advance and upon arriving I was told that they were over-booked and that they would have to put me up elsewhere. All of my business is in Clayton and they sent me to a hotel in downtown St. Luois...WAY out of the ...

Worst Hotel Experience ever, on our 1st anniversary

Stayed here during Christmas

We liked it. Our room was large and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was very quiet while we were there since it was over Christmas and the restaurant owners invited us in for a glass of wine on the house. We would stay there again. It is a charming, homey place.
While I agree with other reviewers that the location is terrific, our 2-night mid-week stay was not exactly the same rosy experience. I'm not usually picky, as long as the room has a comfortable bed, is clean and quiet, I'm satisfied. But a couple of things really put me off.
The Seven Gables definitely has a lot of character and I ...
There is no other hotel in St. Louis quite like the Seven Gables Inn, a historic and charming hotel nestled in the Clayton business district. When I used to work at Washington University, we put guest writers up at this hotel. During our conferences, writers would gather in the bar spontaneously and continue academic discussions over a glass of ...
