The cottages are nice, but the service is terrible. We waited for 21/2 hours to get into our cottage, because they said it was not ready. Then we finally get in and found out it had been ready for 2 hours, the cleaning ladies just "forgot" to let anyone know it was done. The prices are pretty steep too. Our family loved our week at Barren River SRP. One of the best parts were all the activities provided by the staff that cost nothing!
The room was clean and comfortable. The location was beautiful and we will definitely be back.

I love the Lodge. I have been going there since I was 2 years old. Its our favorite family vacation spot. The Lodge offers so much for families with the boat ramp so close for boating, or the swimming pool, or the beach area. We always stayed in the lodge and then in the mornings would go up the hill to a picnic sight and have a huge outdoor breakfast with the family.

I love the Barren River State Park, especially the lodge area. I have lived here all my life. If you are looking for a quiet vacation at a beautiful place, this is the spot!
