5 star hotel from the time you check in til the day you leave. Despite numerous different stays over a number or years we often see familiar faces(staff) who remember us as well.

Princeville Hotel for Sunset Drinks and Luau
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/04
When I go to Kauai I like to go to the Princeville Hotel for sunset drinks at least once, to see how the other half live (at their prices I should say the other 1%). Seriously, it is hard to beat the view at sunset and they make a great Lava Flow drink (if you like blended drinks). This hotel really is a stark contrast to the rest of the island, ...

The views are worth the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/04
My wife and I just got back from our second stay at the Princeville - if you go in with the right expectations, you won't be disappointed. This is a luxury hotel, built on the premise that people want to get away from it all, have very good food (and be willing to pay for it), limited activities, and be in one of the most gorgeous parts of the ...

Great View
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/04
Wonderful view, fairly good service. However, the hotel has a very "forced and harsh" feeling which is out of character for the region. It belongs more in New York than Kauai, by design.

Doesn't capture the tropical feel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/04
If you're looking for the most amazing view of Hanalei Bay and the coolest bathroom you can ask for... this is the place for you. However, the entore hotel is glass and marble and doesn't take advantage or play into the tropical surroundings. I expected more from the grounds as well... the pool was rather small and the hot tubs not so ...

Nice location but not a great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/04
Walking into the Princeville Resort is like stepping into 1985. While it strives to be a luxury resort, the Princeville only succeeds in a few areas. It's dark, out-dated and over air-conditioned. With that said however, the staff was extremely accommodating and the location can't be beat. The hotel beach is beautiful and it's close to some of the best hiking spots in Hawaii.
One fantastic location to vacation! Beautiful pool, private beach with great snorkeling. Kids will love it! Families HAVE to check out the Luau which is great! Meals a wee bit pricey but the service and atmosphere is well worth it! Enjoy!
THE VIEW FROM THIS HOTEL IS OUTSTANDING. THE LOBBY IS HUGE BUT WARM. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. GREAT SNORKELING A FEW STEPS OFF THE BEACH IN 3-6 FEET OF WATER. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. A LITTLE EXPENSIVE BUT NO MORE THAN FINE RESTAURANTS IN NEW YORK. I WILL RETURN TO THE PRINCEVILLE SOMEDAY.
